It's making me a bit sick how the Storm continue to play with their current team basically denying a fair shot at two points... I'm starting not to feel for the players so much anymore... I'm not really liking their reaction to the whole fiasco.

I know they are still digging out everything but the reaction from the Storm club as a whole is making me a bit sick to the stomach.

It's almost like they are acting like they did NOTHING wrong. They are bloody fielding an illegal team of 700+ (approx) over the cap at the moment and denying teams a fair shot at two points.

The players and Bellamy may well be innocent and hurting but how about the teams that didn't cheat? Aren't we hurting? How about us RL fans who love the game? Arent WE hurting?

The storm have absolutely no humility - I would think that during these times the club would be humble and perhaps even apologetic towards the game and the RL community but what is this bloody arrogance? As if THEY were done an injustice?

Sure we hated the Storm for many reasons but we can not deny one of them was because they were so good. We cannot deny they are a well drilled, professional and clinical team. They were awesome on the field - the results speak for themselves. Some may even envy them - but guess what? The fielded teams were ILLEGAL... I don't care if you didn't know and how innocent you are - the team had an incredible unfair advantage and that is one of the major reasons they were so good.

I hate the fact there has been no form of acceptance for their wrong doing from the club as a whole.

I never thought I would hate a club more than the Dogs and Knights during their prime but now I know.

I agree. I think something should be done about it. Personally, I think the games should be a bye, or all teams who have lost to them should get the points.

It is a joke but this is what the great administrator David Gallops feels is the fairest system. How can it be good for the NRL if one team who is 1 million over the cap continually go out and flog other sides.

Bloody cheats... they are proving they are superior by thrashing teams but so what? It's an illegal team - it is a farcical situation by the NRL I suppose.

I can understand they have all close bonds and all that jazz but how can they not understand the team they have created is an illegal team that should NOT have assembled in the first place?

It is professional sport - the club should have more integrity.

What do you guys expect them to do, forfeit?

Perspective is needed when thinking about their situation. They feel betrayed by their own administration, the NRL has punished the club (rightly) with the harshest of penalties by stripping them of what they busted their arses for over 4 years but the players have taken the brunt of the punishments and done nothing except turn up and play good football.

The fact they can turn up and still play to the standard they have over the last few weeks shows what a professional, competitve group they are.

Whoever is recruiting these guys knows something about talent and character and he is the first one the Broncs should target to get into our club.

Peter o'sullivan has already left the storm and gone to the Roosters..

Great thinking from the roosters, maybe we could get him anyway.

And I feel for the players. But I don't care. Bellamy is still allowed to pick a squad that is over the cap, effectively cheating in each game. It doesn't matter if they can't get points, they are still taking the points away from other teams.

And how do you balance that for the sides that beat the Storm, then its not fair to them because they have won 1 more game and won't be rewarded.
This way at least it is the same task for every side and it is the fairest way.

Sorry, but I really can't let you use the words "fair" and "Storm" in the same post - admins!

not seriously, but sorta, but not really

We can't have byes because all the games need to be played for the TV deal, especially with the renewal coming up, instead, Melbourne should be fielding the U20s (unless they're breaching the cap too - and I'm being serious) until:
1. The investigation is finished (as Schuey found another 150K just the other day, who knows the amount of rorts; &
2. Then they can put together a side under the cap, they have to pay players outside that team their agreed contracts until they get picked up somewhere else

Still you have not said how you can make it fair for the sides that beat the full cheating Melbourne side, they lose the advantage of those two points. The NRL have gone this way because it is the same for everyone.
Sure it sucks but IMO it is the fairest way.

Say that again when we miss the 8 by 2 points...

We are not talking about us, this is about the fairest way forward for every team.

And if you think we will go within 2 points of the 8 you must be expecting 4 or 5 more teams to get busted for salary cap infringemnets.

That is the thing - I understand the situation as it is. BUT... it's just ridiculous in a way... a great example is the upcoming match... a Broncos side with an average age of 21 or something taking on a illegitimate team that is 700+ over the cap... what kind of crap is that?!

Furthermore as I mentioned, I don't like the club's stance at the moment... sure they've been dudded by their administration and punished severely but as ddd (I think) mentioned... it is the nature of professional sport today... they should be taking the fall together as a club... and if anything the club should be taking an apologetic stance for what they have done to the game.

No my point is that we here as Bronco fans would be pissed at the NRL and the Storm if we missed the 8 by 2points (Storm match) and im sure every other team's fans would feel the same. As for the teams that beat the Storm good on em. if they miss the 8 they have problems.

So you would be happy if the Boncos young guns pull off a miraculous win and beat the Storm cheaters and somehow look like scraping into the 8 then a week before the finals due to public pressure the NRL decide no team should have lost to the Storm and award 2 points to all the losers and we miss the 8 on for and against.

it makes me sick watching a cheating team out there flogging everyone else; it goes against everything that gets taught about sport, about playing fairly and within the rules.

Sure the Storm went over the salary cap. So what. There just a team of footy players like every other team in the competition who just happened to be getting paid a little of what their worth. The fact of the matter, is the salary cap is to low and is not doing the job it was meant to do. Look what the salary cap has done for the Sharks and the Broncos, for that matter. There is no incentive or reward for developing your own juniors.
I personally know I would rather watch a competition full of Storm teams over Sharks teams any day.
