Titans Christmas message

I hope you recall me saying for a majority of the year we were leading, I wasn't sure how it ended.

On to the stats - the Broncos and Knights figures are understandable, 1 team towns with a huge league following, however they should be better. With such a successful life, the Broncos ticketed memberships should be over 20k. Can anyone confirm if the Suncorp members are included in to the Broncos ticketed memberships? I heard they were included and due to this, the teams playing at ANZ stadium were going to put those members into their team figures. However, the teams declined as it would inflate the figure unrealistically.

With the Dragons figures, do they class a ticketed membership as attending all home games? I am pretty sure they had 4 different types of ticketed memberships that added to that tally - all home games, only home games at Kogarah, only home games at Win and a 3 game GA to any home game. If that is the case then the Dragons figures would most probably be on par with Souths and the Knights or could be a little lower.

We only had a break down of every home game (including 2 away ANZ matches as well), 5 game regional and the junior bunny GA tickets.

I don't think those figures are that bad for us considering how unsuccessful we have been in the last 10 years. I am interested on how the playing away from our "home area" at Homebush effects that figures (personally I prefer playing at ANZ). All we need is few successful years and we will be in the 80% for the ratio of ticketed to none ticketed. Heaven help us if we could actually win the bloody thing.
You're right that the figures should be better, especially for the Broncos, and the bunnies are definitely doing well, given their lack of success in so many years.

However, let's remember that Souths has no leagues club (explaining partly the amount of non ticketed Souths memberships) and the Broncos leagues club members are not included in these numbers, nor the Suncorp members.
Btw, Suncorp memberships for 2012 are officially sold out... Lots of people with money to spend out there! :rash:

Souths has no Leagues club? I've been to Souths Leagues Club before, and to back me up Aeetee, Flutterby and Kris were with me!

Did they re-open recently then? I know they didn't have one a few years ago...

No idea mate. I was there in 2005 so wouldn't have a clue what's happened since then.

The South Sydney Leagues Club, also known as ‘Souths on Chalmers’ and the South Sydney Football Club, also known as the ‘Rabbitohs’ are two separate entities. The two organisations have separate Boards, separate management, and separate staff.

They are organisations run independently of each other. If you are a Member of South Sydney Leagues Club, you are not financially supporting the Rabbitohs.

So it's a similar setup to the Broncos then.

Seems like when we talk about one #### club in the Titans we start talking about another #### club in Souths..

The Leagues club closed early 2007. All Leagues club staff were handed their notices and they closed the doors. Football club admin staff whose office was on Level 3 and the shop on the ground level (where I worked) relocated to an office about a 5 minute walk away and it included a new loan retail shop underneath.

The new Leagues club redevelopment was meant to coincide with the redevelopment of Redfern Park/Oval across the road. With Redfern Oval finally opening to the public with their "Return to Redfern" preseason match in Feb 09 against the Tigers. The leagues club building still set as a half finished construction site.

Major delays came from poor handling of the job due to a breakdown of relationship with Trivest (construction company), Crowe and Phac over the building and also major hurdles with Sydney City Council and leagues club board, with continuous changes to the leagues club floor plan (including the no pokies campaign) delaying the project for almost 3 extra years.

Some levels of the building were finally finished late last year. With the football admin staff returning to their new level 4 offices and retail shop in December 2010.

Since removing Trivest from finishing the project, the new construction company looks to have a deadline to reopen the leagues club for RTR 2012. It will be an interesting 2 months if they can meet the deadline of 28th of January. I really hope they can.

Well that would partly be my fault. I posted an on topic comment in this thread and received my usual "Souths are ####" response from the BHQ haters (lol). I replied with my usual "if only we were better" response. Then facts were brought up to dispel my claim and then the snowball effect started to get to where we are now.

Should've just built the Leagues Club and not pay the builder. Worked for the Titans.

Sort of. It's like you're Rocky and I'm Rocky's real estate agent.

Nah, Rocky lost, by his own admitted stupidity albeit, but still. :loser:

I sortta won, as the bunnies have had no leagues club for 4 years, which is included in the period we were discussing memberships. :coxy:
