Queensland Rugby League has today announced the State Under 18 team to play New South Wales at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, June 17.

The Queensland squad assembles in Melbourne next Thursday to prepare for the annual representative match.

As the curtain-raiser to Game II of the Holden State of Origin series, the interstate clash provides an exciting opportunity for some of the country’s best young talent to showcase their skills on a major stage.
Anthony Seibold returns as coach of the Queensland team, with the majority of players selected out of this year’s Mal Meninga Cup.

Thomas Mikaele and Josh Fauid were with the Broncos at some point as well.

It is 12 all at half time and Hipgrave and Su'a are ripping the Blues apart.

S'ua barges over for a timely try.

However Faiud makes a meal of the conversion.

NSW 18
Queensland 16

14 to go.

Fauid makes ammends with a try right next to the posts.

Palasia ran a good line off of Fauid, turned it back inside to Cotter who fought out of the tackle and got the ball free to a determined Fauid.

Queensland 22
NSW 18

8 to go.

Poor last tackle option by Queensland and NSW have the ball inside the Maroons territory.

Lamb makes a meal of it after consecutive penalties.

Queensland working it out from inside their own half.

Shibasaki spills a giant bomb from Lamb giving Blues another shot the Maroons line.

However Queensland tackle Lamb just short of the line and earn a penalty for double movement.

Cotter kicks it dead and that's the ball game.

Queensland 22
New South Wales 18

Fauid MotM.

Fair effort against one of the better NYC halves in Brock Lamb.

Thought Hipgrave and Su'a were massive and could easily see them playing the Under 20's Origin this year at Suncorp.

Saw the game at the MCG and what a cracker. Hipgrave and Sua were outstanding. It was actually Sua presented with MOTM on stage after game thou, not the half??
