Re: Darius Boyd return?
I have no clue what a true fan is. Im not claiming to be one either.

Yeah thats true. I certainly love to lose my shit. Ve calmed down now though haha
I don't think anyone is going to look stupid. Barely anyone has actually said that "Boyd will definitely not be here next year".
Most thoughts that I have read are that we don't really want him to come back and currently there is no confirmation that Boyd will be a Bronco in 2015.
I just don't see how someone is stupid for waiting for the news to be confirmed before losing their shit over it?
Theres a few saying that bennett would never play favourites like that, would never bring boyd back when we dont need him, would never cut a player like barba to fit him in etc.
Those are the ones that will look silly

The difference will be that Bennett won't settle for a mediocre Five-Eighth (He's shown that at the Knights, experimenting with a whole bunch of different combinations whilst Mullen was injured), even if Darius somehow miraculously wins the 6 jersey in the off-season, if he doesn't play well in it, he'll be on the wing faster than he can say "But.. Daddy.."
I agree. I meant that he can play 5/8 in the way that Inglis CAN play 5/8 if necessary. I'm not suggesting he should or will play 5/8.
I do think everyone needs to calm down a touch over this. Bennett picked Boyd at 5/8 this year for the Knights. It didn't work so he put him back to fullback. One thing Bennett is not and has never been is overly loyal to players to the detriment of the team overall - Griffin-style.
If something isn't working, Bennett DOES change things.

I would love to know how anyone at Triple M learnt about this "impending return" of Boyd to the Broncos, or are they just assuming it's a safe bet since Boyd is tethered to Bennett?
I like to think Bennett isn't that stupid. Barba is younger, more versatile and seems to be taking to the number 6 role pretty well. There is literally no reason to choose Boyd over Barba.
Those posts you quoted really have nothing to do with what you've claimed they have said...

Fair enough. Would much prefer a proper half and keep Milford at fullback. We've also got Hoffman under contract for next season.I personally don't think the balance of the team would be right with both Barba and Milford in the 13, therefore I would take Boyd in place of Barba but he most definitely would not be in my halves
There u go. Ive highlighted the points that i think will be 100% incorrect within a month of season 2015.
How could my point be 100% incorrect within a month? I think Wayne will give him a fair crack at Five-Eighth or Fullback, at least as much time as Griffin gave Hoffman, and if it gets to the point where the fans are as pissed off about it as we were about Hoffman, he'll move him, without question.

The one way I can envision Boyd being affordable (not just in salary cap terms but in terms of value for money) is that if he comes here at a discounted rate, say 300-350k a year to be with Bennett.
It's pretty well known he has some issues he is working with and being around a support set-up (i.e. WB) would probably be a good thing for him. If he's willing to join us at a discount for those benefits and in acknowledgement of the fact his form doesn't deserve a big pay day, and he's willing to play at wing or centre then I can happily support that. In fact, I actually think that would be a great deal for us. It'd only be 100k more than Reed and he's still a very good player (it's just that he doesn't add much to our team at fullback or 5/8).
The real (potential) problems are that WB likely favours him so much he'd just give him a spinal position. The other is that it could come at the expense of Barba having, at the very least, a starting spot in our side. Again, Boyd is a very good player, and he does have the potential to add to the side, but if you have to ship Barba for him then his net effect is not positive IMO. I'm on the fence if it is at the expense of Hoffman.
