Who has been worse than Maranta?

Do people not remember last year? Maranta was solid as **** for us. He's down on confidence and playing injured. He's nowhere near as bad as BHQ makes him out to be.
 
Who is BHQ?

He's had an awful couple of games, that's all I'm saying and this is a forum to discuss ALL things Broncos.

Maranta is the kind of bloke you see and think 'gee, I could have been an NRL player after all'.

He's been terrible this year, was pretty bad the year before last too. Based on career form to date, you'd have to say last year was a purple patch for him (and hardly anything special, just that he wasn't a liability for a while).

Maranta will never be anything but a depth player.

I wonder that too. I thought he was pretty solid lastfor the most part last year. I also wonder if maybe it was because he was playing outside Hodges.

I really don't think Maranta was that bad in 2014.

Had a couple of shockers, but overall he was pretty solid. He wasn't outstanding, but he wasn't terrible.

He played a big part in our good start to the season.

I agree, he won't be anything more than a depth player. But I think people over-exaggerate when it comes to Maranta. Much like the majority of people do with Reed.

Take note Broncos fans, whenever you feel down about the Broncos chances just imagine what Reds fans have been through these past few seasons.

They finally reached the top of the mountain in 2011, only to piss it away with awful player management and coaching appointments. Richard Graham's tenure was so bad, he makes Hook and Henjak look like Jack Gibson by comparison.

I'd have Ross and potentially Maumalo over maranta
 
Edrick Lee is no star but Maranta is nowhere near his level. As for the rest, at least some of them can run straight and not step on sidelines, let balls bounce or simply give up.

Every club has their whipping boy and Lachlan is our special little derpy winger, completely horrendous unless the rest of the team is dominating.
 
I've always thought his only attribute was his ability under the high ball.

last year however he seemed to **** up a lot less and become a solid depth option ....

but he has gone backwards in his few games this year

I actually have a soft spot for Lachlan. Watching him come through the juniors, he's a whole-hearted player who is far more comfortable at fullback. Unfortunately he does not possess the ball-skills necessary to make it at first grade, so he's got to play on the wing, a position he's always struggled in even in the NYC.

The point of this thread isn't to necessarily lay the boot into Lachlan, rather I wanted to explore just how bad he is. Can we as Broncos fans say we have the worst winger in the competition? Or are there other candidates?

Coupled with being a slow news day, I thought it would be a bit of fun.

I have a sweet spot for Ross. A relative of mine was telling me about his dad and how proud he was of his son going to Newcastle to follow his dream. This would have been back in 2014, he was barely in the frame of selection, but his dad was apparently that impressed with him. Watching him, he's clearly playing a level above what he's capable of but he's giving it a good honest crack.

I agree that he's enjoyed a better season than Maranta, not so sure on Maumalo but then I haven't kept as close an eye.

Even by his own standards, Edrick has been awful this year for the Raiders.

He's a good athlete, but no footy sense about him. Considering some of the other names on the list, there's others I'd take off before him.
 
How can you guys say Maranta is bad, what with the 'blistering pace' that he says he has?

All he needs is to get into some space. Just you watch...

PS: of that earlier list, are people seriously considering Daniel Tupou as worse than Maranta?
