I haven't heard of an actual clause in his contract about not going to NZ.

he's just realised that the Warriors won't stay based in QLD forever, so he reportedly wants out when they do move home

the Warriors CEO wants the media punished by the NRL for the continued speculation Walsh wants out.

we can get on the phone to him, but we could only talk about the 2024 season unless the Warriors give us permission
Didn't stop the Warriors from talking to him about last year and getting an early release.

Broncos should be on the phone to walsh tomorrow. I dont think he will feel great about remaining at the warriors after tonight.

I know he was on the losing side but the little bugger tried.

They released Aitken (I think) because he didn’t want to go to NZ when they do, so they can do the same for Walsh and keep Arthurs

Hard to say. Nikorima definitely would make an okay Robin next to Reynolds's batman, but I think we currently do have the players we need to make the eight. It would just require some re arranging.

For some reason the club have had the right centre as a more offensive option and the left as a more defensive. It's a throwback to Hodges and Reed, with Bird and Roberts being in the same boat.

But if they were to tweak it and move Staggs to the left and Farnworth right, Herbie gets the ball more off Reynolds, and Staggs offensively can make up for our options at 6, allowing them to just tackle, run in support and occasionally kick like they currently do.

Right centre isn't broken, but the spine is. Lee Hoeter, Farnworth or Cobbo could all go in there and be just as effective.

Staggs is capable of playing 5/8th. And i'd rather they tried it first before going back to Nikorima honestly. Hell if need be, I'd be tempted to play Staggs at 9 as well. He's too good a footballer to just sit out wide for mine.

The reason I suggested switching centres was to try to create a running edge with Oates able to make an occasional break, and Walters, Gamble and Kelly all capable of running in support. And at least with Staggs out there, the ball would go that way.

But as I said before, I'll admit you were right about the left fend being one of his best attributes. And if he's at centre, he should be on the right.

Honestly I'm not expecting Kevie to actually do anything I'm suggesting. "Listening to the fans in the stands means you're soon going to be joining them" or something like that was the famous Bennett quote wasn't it?

There is no way you're being serious. Staggs to 9? This must be a parody/satire account.

Walsh is a far better player in a far more important position.

That being the case he'd want to know who our coach was going to be. Not sure we could give him an answer.

isnt 24 a player option?

Yep, but he's essentially available for 2024 until he activates that option.

Under the rules he'd be permitted to talk to other clubs about that year

No no no no no! Do you not know what Staggs best part of his game is? It’s his left hand fend. He is literally a one trick pony it’s just hard to contain. No chance would anybody at our club ever be stupid enough to do that. They should quit if they ever did that.
Debuted on the left ?

Did he? Thank god. I guess that means his strengths are meaningless and we should just move him there, because we all know people debut in their best position.

Thank god you are following the thread closely so you understand why I posted re debuting on the left ...

There is a big difference from debuting a bloke, and moving him after he is established. Surely you're smart enough to understand that? Surely. Hopefully.

Surely you are smart enough to understand I was referencing .

The post that said anyone putting him on the left should quit the club . That`d be Wayne ? or Anthony ?

The smart thing to do would be to realise when discussing selecting someone in 2022, he was talking about 2022, not 2018.
