Thought this deserved it's own thread. He said he hasn't closed the option:
http://www.rugbyleaguelive.com/Articles ... bound.aspxBrisbane bookend Ben Hannant has played down suggestions he'll follow departing coach Wayne Bennett to the Dragons next season, but admits a move south of the border remains a possibility.
An impressive start to the season has seen the 106kg enforcer secure a permanent starting role for the Brisbane club, but the Broncos may struggle to keep Hannant once he comes off contract at the end of 2008.
With doubt over prop Jason Ryles' future at the Dragons, St George Illawarra officials may opt to release Ryles from the final two years of his contract in order to make room for 23-year-old Hannant.
Speaking out ahead of the Broncos clash against the Tigers this Saturday, Hannant admitted he is not closing the door on a potential shift to St George Illawarra.
"I'm still looking at options and all that stuff with managers," said Hannant.
"I don't know what's going on yet. I'm just focusing on playing good footy.
"If I’m playing good footy, that sort of stuff (contracts) works out itself.
"Whatever is best for my family is the decision I'm going to make at the end of the day."
If Ryles was to leave the Dragons at season's end, Hannant is expected to be targeted by Bennett to partner Justin Poore and Dan Hunt in the front row.
Bennett is also believed to be targeting Penrith rake Luke Priddis who seems unwanted by the Panthers past the 2008 season.
Priddis, who won a premiership with Bennett’s Broncos in 2000, would seem a perfect fit at the Dragons who will lose Simon Woolford to retirement at the end of the year.
