Norman sucks

Yeah happy to admit I was wrong on that one. Had a great game form what I saw. I don't think they really tested him under the highball though did they?

they should have too the dogs
he is a midget so if they got a one on one player jump with him, the dogs guys would have won it 9/10
I was quite surprised that hasler didn't instruct his halves at halftime to kick them high to him in the second half

I think Norman is treated a bit harshly. I thought he was developing nicely in the halves at the start of 2012. His running game was good and he was starting to develop some combinations. I think Josh Hoffman has to share a bit of blame. He did not play well at fullback so it necessitated a switch from Norman to the back. I actually applaud what Griffin did as the positional switch unearthed Hoffman's true position as a winger.

Unfortunately it hampered Norman's development. He had conditioned his body for life in the halves and wasn't able to really make a second go of it as a number one.

So yeah, I partly blame Hoffman for how things turned out. He had several opportunities to sew up the fullback spot and couldn't do it. Norman had his heart set on being a half and was prepared to back himself. Ironically, Hoffman now has his jersey.

Honestly, you couldn't write this stuff.

I think Norman's been pretty good for Parra this year. Parra could be a real dangerous team if they have Hayne bringing the ball back then swapping with Sandow after the first play.

A few of the Eels fans I've been talking to wish that Norman would run the ball more often, which is quite ironic when compared to the lamb basting he used to cop around here....

How about that combination he developed with himself though!

That's because he simply didn't give a shit ... you could see it in the way he played.

Playing fullback should have helped his development, not hindered it.

With the way Hunt has played I can't help but wonder how effective a combination Norman and Hunt would have made.

IMO....it had proved to be far superior to the Norman / Wallace combination on the odd occasion when Wallace was out of the side.

Can't help but think how fucked up the Norman retention and Wallace sacking was all handled. The decision to sack Wallace should have been made waaay earlier than it was.

I think it depends. Not everyone can be Darren Lockyer. Hoffman has cost this team dearly over the years, imo. He is more naturally gifted than Norman though so that's why he continued to coast by without any real scrutiny up until this year, at least.

This. Wanted them in Qcup together the moment they came out of 20's. Could have been very good.

that's not what happened though ... or certainly not how I remembered it.

all the way into the lead up of 2013, the fullback spot was Hoffman's and Norman was set for playing in the halves. The reason Norman switched back to fullback was because Yow Yeh had an injury setback and then Copley blew his knee out just before Round 1, which only left us with Maranta, Kemp and Berryman to choose from. so Hook shifted Hoffman out wide so we had at least one NRL standard winger

I'm not trying to defend Hoffman's play but you can't blame Norman's switch back to fullback on Hoffman. rightly or wrongly, Hoffman was going to start 2013 as our fullback until injuries forced Hook to shuffle around the line up

Nah, Norman was shuffled to FB because Hoffman couldn't ball play to save his life (and still can't). Not that it improved much, because Norman was still a fucking ball hog... but it showed where Hoffman belongs.

towards the end of the 2012 season everyone on here was calling for Norman to be moved out of 5/8, for the 2013 season Hook did just that and now people want to say Norman was hard done by. when Norman got dropped at the end of last season, he couldn't even secure the 6 jersey in the ISC, the moved him to fullback too.

FTR, I think Norman would've made a good fullback, if he actually tried, instead of sooking about the fact that he wasn't playing 5/8. Playing fullback at the start of his career was good enough for Darren Lockyer, but apparently not good enough for Corey Norman. But i guess thats because Lockyer does whatever is best for the team, Norman wants to do what he thinks is best for himself.

The only reason Norman got a 450k offer from the Eels is because Ricky Stuart needs to offer big money to get players to play under him these days. it hasn't just surfaced since he moved to the Raiders.
