A fitting end to what's been a great year for Test cricket. Such a topsy turvey game where both teams had their chances but the Aussies proved too good in the end.
Hilfenhaus certainly made a big difference. Not that it was ever going to be that difficult to replace Starc but Hilfenhaus really turned the clock back on Days 3 and 4. This was Hilfenhaus of 2006-09.
Was a common theme for the Australians and it was good to see the old guard fight hard for their bowlers. I really hope Ponting and Hussey can finish the series with a century and bow out with class.
Still a lot left in this series and I can't wait until the next game.
They worked as a unit too. The only way I can see Johnson getting a run is in Perth if they opt for an all-pace attack.
Pattinson in particular bowled well today I reckon.
Gotta hand it to Clarke too. He's earned a lot of respect from me as a captain. Nearly every bowling change resulted in a wicket today, and he made it clear to his bowlers what he needed from them. I had my doubts about him captaining Australia but there is no doubt in the world that he is the man for the job.
