Winterstein, Kemp and Yow Yeh - Who would you let go?

This is a really hard choice for me... I would try hard to keep them all but if one had to go then it would be Winterstein.

Yow Yeh has potential to be the best in a few years but at the moment he has been average and hasn't been able to perform without Hodgo inside of him. He has great leaping ability and can do those freakish things, but his defence and the fact that he goes into his shell when he isn't outside Hodgo is a worry.

Kemp has been really unlucky since going over to NZ. If he can get back onto the field and get some confidence back then I think he will be able to regain that form. The fact that he lost a lot of confidence and was mistreated in NZ and that he has been injured all this year really worries me though and I think I could be taking a bit of a risk with him. I do think that Kemp is the best defensive winger of the 3 though and is solid under the high ball.

Winterstein is a solid player, but not fantastic. He will do what is needed and is a great finisher (as shown in 2009 when we had KHunt) but just doesn't have the classiness of Yow Yeh or that amazing finishing ability of Kemp. Plus his defence is pretty bad as well as his bomb taking ability, although I think he has improved under the high ball lately. One thing I must say about Winterstein though is he brings the ball back with purpose. Hunt taught him a thing or two about bringing the ball back with impact before he left and it cleary shows (trampling Heremaia against the Warriors etc).

It hurts me to say, but I would let go of Winterstein.

Is everyone ignoring the fact that Yow Yeh has been playing injured the whole season?

Take it into account.

Um, pretty sure no one wants Yow Yeh gone.

Everyone just keeps saying he's had a terrible season (which is fair enough), but neglect to mention that he's struggled with injury.

I don't think his injury has been his biggest problem though. His confidence is a bit down and he just seems to drop the ball a fair bit. Some people blow there nut over him when he really hasn't put more than 2 or 3 good games together.. He has been playing quite well the last few weeks though..

Could say the same about Kemp. [icon_wink

I'd get rid of Lockyer, move Hoffman to 5/8, Kemp to FB, and have the other 2 on the wings

I guess I am the only one who rates Winterstein over the other 2, and I don't even think he is that great.

Not sure what everyone sees in Yow Yeh, apart from a couple of good games at the back end of last season.. he has been fairly average. I also don't see why he has more "potential" than Winter. He is 20, plenty of good wingers are established by that point.

If Kemp could return to the form he had in 08, I would certainly rate him much higher. But it has been 1 and a half years since then.

The best winger we currently have at the club is Folau, and none of the 3 are close to being him.

Kemp for sure, he is an average defender and a good attacker. Well good finisher, he tends to run sideways half the time when he has the ball.

Have you seen Yow Yeh in Toyota NYC? Foolish to think he's not capable of tearing teams apart when given some space. This is why so many rate him and he's shown he can do it in first grade too.

We aren't talking about Folau here.

Where are all the Yoh Yeh haters now?????????

As i said his ability is far superior then Kemp & Winterstein & showed it today.
