A question about the brawl.

Parents must be absolute ********s to let their kids get away with that.
They don't ffs. They get suspended. Grounded. Are your kids teenagers yet?

You know a good line "You don't see them throwing punches in the NRL do you, if you want to be a good footy player you gotta curb your temper".

Wrong. If the kid still has the mentality of "Oh look the NRL players do it, I'm going to do it" then clearly their grounding and pocket money deductions aren't getting through to their head.
:sigh: Can you please post a copy of your book on parenting teenagers.

Rocky they copy the players steps, hairstyles etc why wouldnt they imitate.................dare I say it their sporting rolemodels

This is another one of those arguments that goes nowhere because the same old guy is wrong but is to thick to acknowledge it. Yep fights and brawls are good for the game.

cant tell em when they are on the field, with emotions, testosterone, heat of the moment

I am still failing to see how a fight is good for the game.. I'll dumb it down fro you a bit, fights will stop parents allowing young boys to play league, they will affect sponsorships. Doesn't matter how rare they are.

Our teenage mate watches these games and he is ALWAYS throwing punches in the game. He can't help himself. He sees the big boys doing it so he does it too.

No offence, but PLEASE.

Is the kid a full dollar.

The kid would be fighting, whether he sees the stars do it.

So if he sees the stars fighting & copies them, does he copy them when they get an injury. (didn't think so)

Can't blame the parents Rocky, everyone knows that sport stars, video games and movies cause issues in kids.

I've killed zombies, soldiers, guerillas, infidels and Chun Li when I was younger but I never applied that in real life.

You talk that sh!t up as being good for the game, and then you come up with a pearler like this?
FMD, I don't know you Rocky, but either you have no clue about junior footy and are just dishing out crap, or you must suffer from small man syndrome!

I do know Rocky, and the answer to your question is it's not mutually exclusive....

Look, this is going in circles because people seem to be reading one line in my post without reading the previous 10 posts that I made. I'll end it here. Below is the summary of my opinions on this matter. Feel free to quote and debate if you wish.

1. The occasional fight is good for the game.

/Reading

You simply cannot say it's good for the game, even if a few people like it. We've spent 30 years cleaning this **** up and nobody wants to see it back.

You just don't get it do you? It's not whether league fans enjoy it (ftr, I don't), but it's the CORPORATE SPONSORS and CASUAL OBSERVERS who the game is trying to appeal to. THEY don't like that ****.

i thought it was disgraceful seeing 4-5 manly players run 30+ metres to the sidelines only for them to all basically start laying into Blair. absolutely disgraceful. sure, run in and break up the fight - but the way they jumped in with arms swinging in a 5-on-1 situation was deplorable, and i hope they sit the next few weeks out.

Nah, it's good for the game

lol

i like a biff as much as the next guy, probably more so to be honest - but its never good for the game. never. and this went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond just a biff.

I agree with the Rock.. It adds to the theatrics of our game. League is built on a pilar of aggression and a lack of self preservation. The odd brawl goes hand in hand with that, you can't have what makes our game great without a few side effects. It's one of the many micro variables that in combination add to the attraction of League.

Like most of the finer things, its great in moderation.
