David Taylor

Am I the only person who thinks that we're complete **** idiots for letting him go at all? Just because he was inconsistent we let him go despite the potential he showed.

Agreed. What shits me is this quote:

"You have to remember at the time we signed Israel (Folau) and that took a big chunk (salary cap) and we thought we would keep K (Karmichael Hunt) and that was quite an amount of money."

So where exactly did that money kept aside for Karmichael go?

They used it to resign all the young blokes McCullough, Yow Yeh, Maguire and Beale etc

I'm guessing there would have been a shitload of cash we were saving for Hunt before he dogged us, and I can't imagine ALL of that money being used up on our juniors.

Bruno can't count, he probably accidentally added it to Lockyer's new contract.

They're saving it for hotdogs and breadrolls at the end of season BBQ

Now, I've been wondering......

Now that Taylor has been given the sack, I wonder if Dave Taylor has some sort of clause in his contract which allows him to bail out of his contract.... hmmm. I would love for this to be the case but I get the feeling it isn't because it would of come out by now but it could be the case and I'm hoping for it to be the case.

Thoughts?

I highly doubt that Jason Taylor is the Type of coach that you would have that type of clause inserted into a contract

If anything he'll probably want to go there more now John Lang is going to be head coach next year.

Lang will be better for DT than Jason Taylor by a country mile !!

Well, I'm certainly hoping but I don't like my chances :(

Well going from what Shane Richardson said at the Red and Green ball last night. David Taylor's girlfriend has already driven down to Sydney to start moving into their house. The club didn't know they were coming down and they didn't contact the club, as the club would have put her on a plane and the car on a truck.

Taylor signed before we knew Hunt was not going to re-sign I think you will find, so how could we have thrown that money at him. Guys as much as it hurts to see him go, let it go he will be a bunny in 2010.

I just hope the kid matures as a footballer, learns a lot from Lang/Tallis and Co. and comes home after he's had a taste of Sydney.

24 years old and playing the football of his life would be a great way to come back home :)

Asked about rumours he now wanted to stay in Brisbane after signing a three-year deal with Souths when he was struggling to make the Broncos top team midway through the season, Taylor said: ''I'm excited about going down and it's a move I want to do. Hopefully with a premiership ring.''

However, he admitted he was ''sad'' to be leaving the Broncos after joining the club in 2006 when coach Ivan Henjak was development manager.

''What happened mid-season was a bit sad, with the way I couldn't make the team and that. But I've overcome that now and I'm playing good football, so it's great,'' he said.

''The way the boys have been going has been great and I'm really enjoying playing at the moment.''

Taylor went to school in North Queensland with Rabbitohs winger Jamie Simpson and played junior representative football with halfback Chris Sandow, so he said he had no concerns about the move to Sydney, and his partner, Ashleigh, and their six-month-old daughter, Macie, shifted south last week.

''She moved down with the bub but they're flying back on Monday so I can't wait to see them,'' he said. ''I know a few of the boys down there so it's not like I'm going down there not knowing anyone or being on my own.''

Now can we put to bed any suggestions he might be looking for an out clause?

That's true.

I just hope he develops as a footballer down there and doesn't go down the path of guys like Asotasi who hasn't gotten much if at all better since he left the dogs.

Unfortunately, I personally can't ever see him coming back to the Broncos, unless his form drops considerably. If he keeps up his current form and then continues to improve, I just don't think we'd be able to afford him later.

Pfft. He's gone. People on here say the same things whenever anyone leaves. Deadset, when Minto left people were saying the same.

Or maybe that was just me.

But anyone with an ounce of talent who leaves "Hope he comes back, blah blah", and how many have come back? Carroll, Thorn, Kemp and well Alfie was a little different. Anyone else?

He's gone, it sucks.

Lets hope Bruno doesn't come back!

Didn't Civo just sign for 2 years? So what, he'll be about 97 when he comes back?
